Everyday people’s lives depend on the quick reaction and competent care of emergency medical technicians and paramedics. They respond to everything varying from automobile accidents, heart attacks, slips and falls, childbirth, and injuries that require immediate medical attention. EMTs and paramedics are most of the time dispatched by a 911 operator to the scene and often work in connection with law enforcement and firefighters. When they arrive on the scene of an accident, they’ll begin by assessing the patient’s condition and then will transport to the nearest hospital.

They are in trained in basic life support and under take regular training and maintenance and they’re also coordinated and delivered by a paramedic manager.
EMTs and paramedics use special equipment such as backboards which are used to immobilize patients before placing them on stretchers and securing them in the ambulance for transport to a hospital. Either an EMT or paramedic will drive the ambulance while the others monitor the individual’s vital signs on the way to the hospital. Some EMTs or paramedics may also be part of a helicopter’s flight crew to quickly transport critically ill or injured patients to hospitals.
